Eva Bovenzi has consistently created art that alludes to the intangible. Educated in the Bay Area, shaped by the 1970’s feminist art movement, Zen Buddhism, and the meditative tradition of Bay Area art-making, Bovenzi's work explores our collective sense of the numinous, expressing a deep understanding of nature and the unknown through abstraction.

Giving visible form to the invisible has rooted Bovenzi in the enigmatic practice of Northern California artists such as Jay de Feo, Bruce Connor, Frank Lobdell, Morris Graves and others from the 1940’s through the present, whose work explores the mystery that surrounds us.
